Hill Country Salon Suites: Inspiring the next generation of local entrepreneurs in central Texas
When the dynamic husband-and-wife duo of Richard Spradley and Melanie Scharton decided to launch a new business venture, they had one goal in mind: Inspire the next generation of small business owners right here in Central Texas.
With a background in data security, Richard has launched three tech- nology startups in the region during the last 30 years. He’s also consulted with dozens of early-stage businesses to help them ground their vision in reality and ultimately, success.
“I love data science,” says Richard, “and it was data that motivated us to launch Hill Country Salon Suites in Georgetown. As the fastest growing city in the nation for the second year in the row, there is an increased demand for services, and an abundance of talent waiting to be harnessed.”
The couple sees that supply and demand in the form of salon professionals, ranging from hair stylists and barbers to cosmetologists, estheticians, med spa professionals, lash and nail technicians, and even tattoo artists.
“With a growing population,” says Melanie, “it just makes sense that people would be looking for the best service providers close to home. Our goal at Hill Country Salon Suites is to offer premier services from the best professionals in town in a clean, secure, and welcoming space that offers everything our clients and tenants need.”
In addition to opening the 26-salon suites at 5361 Williams Drive, the two entrepreneurs are offering tools to help salon owners take their operations to the next level. Every tenant at Hill Country Salon Suites receives access to their own HVAC thermostat control, brightly lit parking, free Wi-fi, and an HDTV with streaming capability to keep clients (and themselves!) enter- tained. Tenants are listed in an online salon directory, receive social media campaigns promoting their business locally, a press release to help build brand awareness, and access to a 26-step marketing program.
“We want to be the best chapter in our salon owners’ careers,” says Melanie. “We are here to support small business owners with the capabilities and confidence to do their work effectively and profitably, while giving the community a wonderful place to relax and realize their personal beauty goals.”
